Funny Scary Movies

Best Blogger Tips
These are some of my favourite movies:

Shaun of the Dead

"Life isn't too good for Shaun (Pegg). He lives with his best friend Ed (Frost), neglects his girlfriend Liz (Ashfield) and despises his step-dad (Nighy). When Liz dumps Shaun, he vows to get his life back on track. Unfortunatly, this is the day that the dead has decided to come back to life. With a cricket bat and Ed by his side, Shaun sets out to rescue those he loves and those he doesn't love, and heads to the safest place he knows...the Winchester."

Evil Dead II

"A sequel/remake of the film The Evil Dead. A young man named Ash takes his girlfriend Linda to a secluded cabin, and plays back a professor's tape recorded recitation of passages from the Book of the Dead. The spell calls up an evil force from the woods which turns Linda into a monstrous Deadite, and threatens to do the same to Ash. When the professor's daughter and her entourage show up at the cabin, the night turns into a non-stop, grotesquely comic battle with chainsaw and shotgun on one side, demon horde and flying eyeball on the other"

Army of Darkness

"In this sequel to the Evil Dead films, a discount-store employee ("Name's Ash. Housewares.") is time-warped to a medieval castle beset by monstrous forces. Initially mistaken for an enemy, he is soon revealed as the prophecised savior who can quest for the Necronomicon, a book which can dispel the evil. Unfortunately, he screws up the magic words while collecting the tome, and releases an army of skeletons, led by his own Deadite counterpart. What follows is a thrilling, yet tongue-in-cheek battle between Ash's 20th Century tactics and the minions of darkness."
These movie plot reviews are from the Internet Movie Database. I like movies alot and I like to use this site to look things up. For example, when I'm watching an animated movie and I recognize a celebrity's voice but cannot think of their name I can just look it up on IMDB to find my answers.

Scariest Movies

Best Blogger Tips
I had mentioned I like to watch horror movies on Halloween. I used to (in my early teens) love all horror movies and no amount of gore or disturbing material could upset me. But now things have changed. I can barely handle even the tamest ones, it’s embarrassing. Horror movies that frighten me the most, but I’ll make an exception for on Halloween, are:

Zombie Movies
- 28 Weeks Later
- 28 Days Later
- Day of the Dead
- Dawn of the Dead

Japanese Movies
- Ringu
- Ringu 0
- Rasen
- Eye 2
- The Grudge

Scary Movies I will not watch under ANY circumstance:
- American remake of the Ring
- American remake of the Grudge
- Nightmare on Elmstreet
- any Saw movies

I know, I'm no fun. Best Blogger Tips

It’s Halloween!

Best Blogger Tips

Halloween . . . one of my favourite holidays. Unfortunately, I have to work tonight so I won’t be able to hand out candy to kids. I’d like to go out to a bar afterwards but my budget is tight so I’ll just stay home with my boyfriend and watch horror movies instead. Oh yeah, and have a couple of drinks! Every year I carve a pumpkin but because of my school and work schedule I haven’t had time to do it. So I’m just going to carve a quick face or something. It’s probably going to be a low key night.

Is it okay to skip class?

Best Blogger Tips
What do you think . . . Is it okay to skip class?

In the Beginning: I start off each semester with a vow that I will go to every class and stay for the whole class. But that promise is worn off very quickly sometimes. This semester I will usually go to class but only stay for the first hour and a bit (each lecture is 3 hours). And sometimes I skip the class altogether.

Excuses: I think this is largely because the classes are pretty boring this year. The professors just cannot keep my interest and attention for too long. I have had classes that I find very interesting, its not like I have a problem with paying attention to things. Also skip class because there are a lot of distractions in my life. Not all of them are major but I have work and money to worry about. But I also am distracted by the fun things I want to do like reading, playing games, watching movies, going out, blogging, etc.

On the Bright Side: There is one class that I have not missed once this semester. . . financial management. Accounting and finance is not my strong area. I find these classes to be the most difficult so I go to learn as much as I can and get clarification. I do all of my homework (that will be graded), I do enough studying, and my grades are really good and stable.

My Thoughts: Even though I am paying to go to class I do not take advantage of the valuable resources that can be obtained by actively listening to lectures and that makes me feel kind of guilty. But I am completely happy with my grades so far (on the honour role) and the semester is almost over.

I think it is not the responsible thing to do but I feel that I am getting what I need from the courses and I am proud of my accomplishments. My learning style does not always include verbal reinforcement. Most of the time my best learning comes from just reading the text.

Your Thoughts: What do you think? Is it wrong that I am not going to class? Or is it okay? Does it matter?

Rate My Life Quiz

Best Blogger Tips
I stumbled apon a blog (Flight of the Bestalked Pickles) that mentioned a cute little quiz Rate My Life. It rates different aspects of your life out of a score of 10. I tried it for fun and these were my results:

Overall Life: 6.3

Mind: 5.9
Body: 4.5
Spirit: 6
Friends/Family: 5.3
Love: 9.2
Finance: 6.9

My score is prettly low. I would have thought that my mind and family/friend rating higher but I was happy to see that my love rating was so high!

You should check it out if you have time. It is not the shortest quiz in the world . . . it goes more indepth. It would probably take no longer than 5 minutes. I'm also unsure of its credibility but it's interesting anyway.

The Ultimate Student Cookbook

Best Blogger Tips
Recently I bought a cookbook that is geared towards college students. It is written by Silvana Franco whom I believe is from the UK. It is full of recipes that are cheap, healthy and contain ingredients that you would normally keep in your kitchen. Each recipe makes enough servings for one or two people. The recipes are very, very easy to follow and there are very useful tips throughout the book. Once I am able to try some of the recipes out i'll let you know how they were and i'll post my favourites. If you're a student or just have limited cooking equipment I would recommend this book to you. It's also great if you just need some fast meals.

I'm a List-aholic!

Best Blogger Tips
One thing you may like to know about me is that I like to write lists. I write lists for everything even if it may seem redundant to some people. This helps me to organize my thoughts and allows me to be prepared as possible. I am not very spontaneous so I plan out almost everything that I need to do in a day.

For example, if I am going to the school library I will write out a list of everything I need to get done there. This also helps me to manage my time so I have more time to do other things.

These lists are often very detailed. When I go shopping I do not just write out a shopping list I write out which stores I am going to visit, in chronological order, and even the exact times I need to be waiting for the city bus.

And I do not only write lists and plans to be prepared. Sometimes I do them for fun, which I know sounds pathetic, but it helps me feel more confident about my future and events. For example, I plan on moving out of my parents house soon and into an apartment with my fiancee. This has resulted in a lot of lists! I have written dozens of projected budgets so I will have an idea of the money I will need under different circumstances. I have written grocery lists including every item I could possibly need to start out. And lists of all other things I will need to buy at first like kitchen supplies and toiletries.

I will likely post some of these lists in the near future because maybe they will inspire you. Best Blogger Tips

My School: Laurentian University

Best Blogger Tips
I have been attending the university of Laurentian for the past 3 years. I take my studies at Georgian College because it is local and it allows me to live with my parents and save on rent and other costs. I do plan on moving out soon and i'll be talking about that process later. I am going for my Bachelor of Business Administration undergraduate degree which is a 4 yr program. I don't plan on doing any more shcooling after this but right now I am specializing in marketing. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do with this degree. But I will probably start in sales and work my way up. You can click on the image below to visit the Laurentian Univeristy website.
